Happy World Hypnotism Day 2018
The idea behind World Hypnotism Day is to educate and expel common myths and misconceptions about hypnosis and to raise awareness of the truths and benefits.
I spend almost as much time explaining what hypnosis any hypnotherapy aren’t as I do explaining how they can help people to feel themselves again. A common misconception I come across is that with a click of my fingers, they will be totally unaware, like in a sleep state, and I can make them do all sorts of possibly humiliating things (clucking like a chicken being a common one).
Hypnotherapy is a valuable and effective tool for a huge range of issues, such as anxiety, stress, phobias, relationship issues, weight issues, self-confidence, pain management and many others. Unfortunately it is often confused with stage hypnotism, which provides a source of entertainment with willing participants but has no therapeutic value.
Let me dispel a popular myth: You are fully aware and hear everything during hypnosis, you are not asleep, unaware or vulnerable. This is perhaps one of the things my clients are most surprised to hear during our consultation and generally express an element of relief, which is understandable.
I encourage you to give me a call and ask questions, no matter how small they seem in order to understand hypnosis better and how it can help you.
You can also see the FAQ page which answers some of the most frequent questions I am asked but feel free to give a call or get in touch using the contact form
