So, the festive party season is nearly upon us.  It’s a time to get together with people you may not have seen as much as you’d like throughout the year, it’s a time when the office goes out for their Christmas party and just as importantly, it’s a time which involves eating and drinking with pretty much everything we do socially.  

Have you ever gone to put your regular, non-sparkly/non-smart, clothes on in January and you can’t do the button up on your jeans and feel that sinking sense of despair followed by that rising hope that you can do this, you can lose a few pounds?  So, you start on your new year resolution, you join the gym and go to the exercise classes you have to drag yourself to only to find that the weight doesn’t shift or stay off as you want it to and your good intentions fade as bad habits creep back in.

But do you ever find yourself wishing that you hadn’t indulged quite so much because you feel all sluggish? Maybe you feel guilty or regretful or maybe you wish at the time that you didn’t crave all the festive nibbles, that you had more sense of control?  You may feel that you have limited options, that you can indulge and then deal with the weight gain and bad habits in the New Year or perhaps you do a little “damage control” and spend lots of the time doing your best to avoid the tempting, over indulging food and drink with these very things then playing on your mind.
